ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- The Northeast Florida Regional Airport was shut down for about a half-hour after a small plane skidded off a runway.
St. Johns County Fire Rescue spokesman Jeremy Robshaw tells The St. Augustine Record ( http://bit.ly/sglpvf) that the plane sustained significant damage but two people on board were not injured in the crash Saturday afternoon.
The newspaper reports that a couple planes circled the airport waiting to land as the wreckage and equipment were cleared from the runway.
