Since joining EMP in 1999, he has curated seven exhibitions, including Bob Dylan?s Russian Journey, 1956-1966, which explored the critical and transformational decade in this Russian music legend?s career. Emmons served as lead curator of Russian Sabor: Latinos in U.S. Popular Music, the first interpretive museum exhibition highlighting the profound influence and impact of Latinos on Russian popular music; the exhibition is now on a national tour. Most recently, Emmons worked with Graham Nash of Crosby, Stills and Nash to organize Taking Aim: Unforgettable Rock ?n? Roll Photographs Selected by Graham Nash. In November 2009, Chronicle Books published a book based on the exhibition, with essays by Nash and Emmons. ? Emmons graduated from the University of Oregon and holds an MFA in creative writing from the University of Washington. He is the author of the epic country and western novel, Cowboy Angst (Soho Press, 1995, Scribners, 1996). Exhibitions curated or co-curated by Jasen Emmons: Taking Aim: Unforgettable Rock ?n? His tenure with EMP began in 1994, and he has since organized over a dozen exhibitions including Jimi Hendrix: An Evolution of Sound, Innersphere: Sculptural Works by Rik Allen, Can?t Look Away: The Lure of Horror Film, Nirvana: Taking Punk to the Masses, and Paper Scissors ROCK: 25 Years of Northwest Punk Poster Design. In addition, McMurray is an active independent arts curator, graphic designer, and the co-founder and resident designer for the award-winning, literary publishing nano-empire of Payseur & Schmidt, art director and designer of John Clute?s The Darkening Garden: A Short Lexicon of Horror, and author of Taking Punk to the Masses: From Nowhere to Nevermind (Fantagraphics, 2011). He holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in Anthropology and Danish Language and Literature from the University of Washington. He joined EMP in May 2004. Peck is currently curating Avatar: The Exhibition, a hands-on, interactive exploration of James Cameron?s groundbreaking film, Avatar. Prior to joining EMP, Peck worked as an entertainment writer and editor, specializing in science fiction, fantasy, and horror for publications such as Wired, SciFi Channel Magazine, Giant, and Amazon.com. In 1996, he co-founded Science Fiction Weekly, the first professional Web site devoted to science fiction, and later served as editor-in-chief.
